McEachern Football to Start Season Against State Champ

Coming off a 10-2 record in 2011, the Indians hope to avoid any narrow losses like the two-point and three-point ones from last year.

McEachern Football to Start Season Against State Champ

The Indians will kick off their 2012 schedule like they did last year—playing one of their toughest opponents in the premier event marking the start of the Georgia high school football season.

In last year's Corky Kell Classic, triumphed over North Gwinnett, 26-17, . This year, they're set to take on Grayson, , to claim the 5A state championship.

The Georgia High School Association starting this season, and according to Rivals.com, Corky Kell will feature five games instead of four for the first time in its 21-year existence.

The event is Saturday, Aug. 25.

The Indians will kickoff in the second game at 11:45 a.m. All of them will be broadcast live on GPB-TV.

McEachern finished last year with a 10-2 record, only losing , 12-10, in the regular season, and Lassiter, 20-17, in a .

The Indians are part of the newly created Region 4-6A, along with Campbell, Harrison, Hillgrove, Kennesaw Mountain, Marietta, North Cobb, Pebblebrook and South Cobb—all .
