Group Organizes Search For Missing Army Veteran

A group dedicated to publicizing incidents of missing residents has taken interest in a local case that’s puzzled Cherokee County citizens and law enforcement alike.

Missing in America will host a four-day search for Chase Tyler Massner, a U.S. Army veteran and Cherokee County resident who was last seen in Kennesaw in March 2014.
The search will take place June 13-16 by the group’s Missing Person Recovery Team, according to the Facebook event created to inform the public about the search. Nancy Shaefer, founder of Missing in America, is leading the search in the area.

Friends and family who are helping with the search for Massner are also raising money to assist Missing in America with the cause. Donations can be made to the Missing Chase Massner Search Fund’s GoFundMe campaign.
Massner, who had been staying with his mother, Stephanie Cadenda, at her home in Woodstock before he disappeared, was last seen at his friend’s house at 555 Farmbrook Lane in Kennesaw at around 1 p.m. Thursday, March 27, 2014. Cadena and Massner’s wife, Amanda Massner, reported him missing on Friday, March 28.
Cobb County police spokesperson Michael Bowman previously told Patch the case remains active and ”our detectives are following up on any good leads” that come their way.
Massner, a white male, was last seen wearing a red sweatshirt and khaki pants. He stands at 6’2, weighs around 175 pounds, has dark brown hair and brown eyes. He also has several tattoos, including a tattoo of a treasure chest, an angel and his surname on his arm and of two roses on his right pectoral muscle.
