REMINDER: Celebrate Arbor Day, Get Free Seedlings in Woodstock

You have just three days to make plans to take advantage of the city of Woodstock's free seedling giveaway!

Woodstock's annual free seedling and tree care guide giveaway will be held from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday at four places throughout the city:

  • Woodstock City Annex, 12453 Highway 92
  • Magnolia Hall, 108 Arnold Mill Road Building C
  • William G. Long Senior Center, 223 Arnold Mill Road
  • Woodstock Visitors Center at Dean's Store, 8588 Main Street

The guide is also on the city's  website.

The city will give away 800 seedlings for Dogwood, Crape Myrtle and Live Oak trees.

The guide on tree care will include caring for and planting trees, pruning existing trees and current water restrictions.

To commemorate Georgia Arbor Day, Woodstock city officials will plant and dedicate a tree in the spring to honor city employees celebrating their 20-year anniversary with the city.

Those employees are Woodstock Fire Department Capt. Jackie Byers, Public Works' Jeff Dupree and Waste Water Treatment Plant Supervisor Larry Thomas.
