Algonquin Police Blotter: Cary Man Charged With DUI; Men Arrested for Retail Theft

The following information was provided by the Algonquin Police Department regarding crime and arrest reports made on May 31 and June 1. 

May 31, 2014

  • 05:09am Hurd, Michael R. Jr. DOB: 04/03/73 of 580 Spruce Tree Drive, Cary, was charged with DUI, DUI Over and Improper Turn.  He was taken into custody at Cary-Algonquin Road and Blackhawk Trail.  He was released after posting $100 and his Illinois Driver’s License, with a court date of 07/02/14, in McHenry County.
  • 14:30pm Wells, Brenton W. DOB: 01/11/74 of 1460 Williamsburg Road, Rockford, was charged with Felony Retail Theft.  He was also Wanted on a Warrant, out of Winnebago County for Retail Theft.  He was taken into custody at Target, 750 S. Randall Road. Also taken into custody during the same incident was Bowling, Benjamin M. DOB: 03/11/80 of 418 Marquette Road, Machesney Park, who was charged with Felony Retail Theft.  Both were transported to McHenry County Jail, to await a bond hearing.
  • 19:30pm A fifteen-year-old male from Lake in the Hills was charged with Retail Theft.  He was taken into custody at Kohl’s, 734 S. Randall Road.  He was referred to the Tri County Area Peer Jury and then released into the custody of his mother.

June, 1, 2014

  • Ochoa, Meliton M. DOB: 04/01/88 of 7021 Lowell Drive, Carpentersville, was charged with No Valid Driver’s License and Possession of Open Alcohol.  He was taken into custody at Compton Drive and Algonquin Road.  He was released on a Personal Recognizance Bond, with a court date of 07/02/14, in McHenry County.
