Car Fire Ignites Garage In Aurora Home

The car was fully engulfed in flames when firefighters got to the scene.

AURORA, IL --- A car that caught on fire in Aurora caused a garage to ignite and sustain significant damage the day after Christmas. The fire broke out at around 1:44 a.m. in the 400 block of West New York Street, according to a press release from the Aurora Fire Department.

Fire officials say the car was fully engulfed in flames that had spread to the garage when they arrived. A total of two dozen firefighters were needed to extinguish the blaze, which caused a total of $10,000 in damage.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
