Dogs and Winter Weather
If you and your dog are going to brave the winter weather, be sure to keep an eye on your dog because they can get frostbite, too! Using boots, coats, and scarves on your dog will help to keep them warm; start putting them on for a few minutes as practice so they can get used to wearing them.  For dogs who won’t wear boots, try using a paw wax product on their feet.  Paw wax products will help give your dog traction and also help keep the snow and ice from building up on/in their paws.  Even though most dogs love winter and especially snow, don’t let them stay out too long in freezing temperatures.  Winter can be a fun time for your dog with some protection from the cold and snow!
