The advisory that was from 9 p.m. Wednesday to 10 a.m. Thursday now extends two hours earlier and two hours later.

...WIND CHILL ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT FROM 7 PM CST /8 PM EST/ THIS EVENING TO NOON CST /1 PM EST/ THURSDAY...

* WIND CHILL VALUES...WILL DROP TO 20 TO 25 DEGREES BELOW ZERO THIS EVENING AND REMAIN UNDER 20 BELOW ZERO THROUGH THE LATE MORNING HOURS.

* IMPACTS...FROST BITE AND HYPOTHERMIA CAN OCCUR IN A MATTER OF MINUTES.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS ...

A WIND CHILL ADVISORY MEANS THAT THE WIND WILL COMBINE WITH THE VERY COLD AIR TO GENERATE LOW WIND CHILLS. THIS WILL RESULT IN FROST BITE AND LEAD TO HYPOTHERMIA IF PRECAUTIONS ARE NOT TAKEN.
