Bolingbrook Boys Bowling Team Powers to IHSA State Tourney Berth

And solid contributions from up-and-down the rest of the lineup.
That was the ticket for the Bolingbrook High School boys bowling team in competition at the Andrew Sectional on Saturday at Orland Bowl. The Raiders' Matt Rycraft placed seventh overall with a pinfall total of 1,355 and Eric Kramer finished 15th with a total of 1,322.
The two seniors led Bolingbrook to a sixth-place finish in the sectional, good for the final qualifying berth in the IHSA state tournament Friday and Saturday at St. Clair Bowl in downstate O'Fallon. The Raiders finished with a team total of 6,240.
Minooka won the sectional championship with a total of 6,510. Four other teams also advanced: Lockport (6,461), Morgan Park (6,331), Oswego (6,286) and Andrew (6,270).
Bolingbrook picked up contributions from Gio Montecinos (1,227), Matt Strechowski (1,195), Kurt Messenger (774/4 games) and Cameron Zulfer (367/2 games). Zulfer is a freshman.
