Donald Trump Once Again Postpones Bolingbrook Fundraiser

The campaign says it was because of a scheduling conflict, but an anti-Trump group says it was because of low ticket sales.

BOLINGBROOK, IL — Donald Trump has once again postponed his planned Bolingbrook fundraiser.

First set for Sept. 12, then Sept. 19, the fundraiser, barring any further postponements, will be held Wednesday Sept. 28 at the Bolingbrook Golf Club, according to the Daily Herald.

Tickets for the fundraiser start at $1,000 and are going as high as $250,000. The top-priced tickets includes a photo op and a seat at the VIP roundtable.

Suburban Families Against Hate had a protest scheduled for the Sept. 19 appearance, but has now changed the date to coincide with the new date. The protest will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 28.

While the Trump campaign cites a scheduling conflict for the postponement, a spokesperson with Suburban Families Against Hate said “someone at the golf club mentioned that it was due to the low ticket sales that it has been postponed twice.”

A phone message left with the Bolingbrook Golf Club seeking confirmation of the reasoning was not immediately returned.

SFAH has also created a petition to keep Trump out of Bolingbrook and currently has 1,351 supporters. The petition states that “Trump does not represent the interests nor the values of families in the suburban community of Bolingbrook. It is an insult to invite a billionaire to raise funds in a middle-class, hard working, vibrant, and diverse community.”
