Severe Weather: Keep an Eye on Snow-Related Closings
As snow continues to fall, some agencies are announcing closings.

A winter storm warning remains in effect until 9 p.m. Monday, with the National Weather Service predicting 4 to 8 inches of snow — or up to 10 inches south of I-80.

There's also a chance for thunder with the heavier bands of snow this afternoon, according to the NWS. Snow should taper off early this evening.

Here's a roundup of local closings and cancellations:

  • The Plainfield Park District has cancelled classes for Monday night, Feb. 17, due to severe weather.
  • University of St. Francis in Joliet is closing at 4 p.m. Monday.
  • All Lewis University campuses are closing at 4 p.m. Monday, and Rasmussen College in Romeoville has cancelled evening classes.
  • St. Mary Nativity School in Joliet has cancelled religious education classes.
