TV Chef to Visit Bolingbrook High School

Chef Marco Suarez is coming to Bolingbrook High School.
One of the stars of the Food Network’s “Chopped” and the former Executive Chef at Bon Savor in Boston will use his culinary skills to treat BHS students to some sample recipes during lunch time Monday and will work with BHS foods and nutrition and culinary arts classes after lunch.

The visit, organized through High Liner Foods’ Thank Goodness It’s Fish Friday (TGIFF) program, is designed to introduce students to the importance of eating fish at least once a week.
Chef Marco will create and serve sweet potato crusted fish on a waffle, part of High Liner Foods’ Sa-Weet! Potato Crusted Seafood™ line which is made from Alaska Pollock that has been certified sustainable by the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC).

He began his culinary career washing dishes at a restaurant in his hometown of Greenwich, Connecticut. Immediately after graduating from high school, he trained at the Culinary Institute of America and, at the age of 25, earned the top spot at Eastern Standard Kitchen in the Boston area.
Valley View currently serves fish on its high school menus every Friday.
