Buffalo Grove Police to Step Up Enforcement for St. Patrick's Day
Local police officers will be out in full force.

BUFFALO GROVE, IL - The Buffalo Grove Police Department will be stepping up its enforcement efforts for the St. Patrick's Day holiday. Local officers will be out patrolling for alcohol- and drug-impaired drivers and for those not wearing their seatbelts, particularly at night when seat belt usage rates are the lowest.
“The Buffalo Grove Police Department will be on patrol this St. Patrick’s Day and residents are reminded to obey the law,” Buffalo Grove Police Sgt. Anthony Goldstein said. “Don’t drink and drive, and don’t let your friends do it. Help us ensure there are zero fatalities in Illinois over this holiday.”
The St. Patrick’s Day “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” Crackdown is funded by federal traffic safety funds from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and is administered through the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT).

“If you choose to drink, designate a sober, reliable driver to get you home safely from the party. If you’re planning on driving, don’t drink. The last thing you want to do is ride home with a cop,” Goldstein said.
