Driver Killed in Head-On Crash in Long Grove
The crash occurred on Route 53 near Old Hick Road in Long Grove Wednesday night.
One person is dead following a two-vehicle, head-on crash in Long Grove Wednesday night.
A preliminary investigate reveals the crash occurred when a Jeep Grand Cherokee was traveling north on Route 53 in the area of Old Hick Road in Long Grove at about 7:30 p.m. The Jeep entered the southbound lanes and collided with a Toyota Camry, according to a Lake County Sheriff’s Office press release.
The driver of the Jeep was transported to Good Shepherd Hospital in Barrington where he was pronounced dead. The driver of the Toyota sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

The identity of the deceased driver is being withheld pending notification of next of kin by the Lake County Coroner’s Office.
The traffic crash remains under investigation by the Lake County Sheriff’s Office Technical Crash Investigations Unit.
