"That dude is a good athlete, whoever that monkey is," Bears linebacker Sam Acho tells Sun-Times. Watch Nik Gaur's video.

CHICAGO, IL -- A fan dressed in a gorilla suit and an “All Lives Matter” shirt stormed Soldier Field Sunday afternoon during the Bears-Lions game. Security officers chased the fan, who did a pretty good job of outrunning them, until the gorilla slipped and fell.

Bears security officers tackled the gorilla, who was taken into custody and escorted off the field. The gorilla snuck on the to turf during the fourth quarter of Sunday’s game. According to Chicago Sun-Times, no one in the Bears organization or online security noticed the political overtones of the gorilla’s T-shirt. Printed on the backside of the shirt was “Put the guns down.”

“He actually ran right past me,” Bears receiver Eddie Royal told the Sun-Times. “I thought it was the mascot at first. I didn’t see the T-shirt.”

Fan Nik Gaur tweeted, “A guy dressed as a gorilla wearing an ‘All Lives Matter’ shirt just ran onto the field at the Bears game.” Gaur also shot a video of security chasing the ape.

Another fan tweeted that Bears quarterback Jay Cutler needed the attention.

The Bears beat the Lions, 17-14, but with no help from the gorilla.

Bears linebacker Sam Acho told the Sun-Times that the costumed fan could run.

“That dude is a good athlete, whoever that monkey is,” Acho said. “He’s probably in jail now.”
