House Speaker Paul Ryan Plans Massive GOP Fundraiser In Chicago

Donors will need to contibute at least $1,000 to attend the event in March.

CHICAGO, IL — Speaker Paul Ryan will be heading south of his home state to hold a massive Republican fundraiser next month in Chicago, according to Crain's Chicago Business.

The event will be March 23, and attendees will participate in a roundtable and general reception, according to the invitation. The fundraiser's location has not been announced, and the invitation state that donors will be told where to go after they RSVP.

While all donation amounts will be accepted, tickets to attend the March event cost a minimum of $1,000, the report stated. A $50,000 donation will get the donor a private dinner and photo op with Ryan, as well as invitations to three House GOP retreats, the report added.

Funds from the event will go to Ryan, the Wisconsin congressman's Prosperity political action committee and the National Republican Congressional Committee, the report stated. Republicans of note who are expected to attend include Chicago investor and founder and CEO of global investment firm Citadel Kenneth Griffin; Craig Duchossois, CEO of The Duchossois Group, which has a stake in Arlington International Racecourse; and the seven GOP representatives from Illinois, including Adam Kinzinger and Peter Roskam.

Last year, a similar Republican fundraiser is said to have raised more than $1 million for the party, according to Crain's. This year's event is expected to raise more than $2 million, the report added.
