Navy Pier Expects Full Capacity on 4th of July

Full day of Independence Day celebration events means some may be turned away.

Chicago, IL - Navy Pier is among the most popular places in the entire country to spend the Fourth of July.

The pier will be open to the public beginning at 10 a.m. on Monday, July 4. The Freedom Festival will begin at 6:30 p.m., with a fireworks display set to begin at exactly 9:30 p.m.

The fireworks display will be synchronized to a patriotic soundtrack, according to a news release from the pier.

Large crowds are expected on the holiday, and pier officials are anticipating the need to close the entrances once capacity is reached.

Those with reservations for cruises or performances or tickets to boat rides are urged to arrive several hours in advance.
