Robin Robinson Hired by Chicago Police Department

The longtime Fox 32 Chicago news anchor will be a special adviser for the Chicago Police Department.

Chicago, IL - Chicago television personality Robin Robinson will give it a go as a member of the Chicago Police Department.

The longtime popular news anchor who worked for Fox Chicago for 25 years before joining WBBM Newsradio will serve as a special adviser to the department’s superintendent for community affairs.

CPD Superintendent Eddie Johnson announced the news in an internal memo, according to WTTW’s Chicago Tonight.

“Utilizing the trust she has built throughout the city during her career, (Robinson) will serve as a Departmental spokesperson and be responsible for fostering stronger community faith and partnerships in Chicago’s neighborhoods,” Johnson wrote.

To accept the position with the CPD, Robinson stepped down from her role as news anchor for WBBM.

“We wish her nothing but great success,” Ron Gleason, director of news and programming at WBBM Newsradio, told Robert Feder. “We both agreed this would be a conflict with covering the news, and she has not been on the air for several weeks.”

Robinson began her news career in Chicago with CBS, them moved to Fox in 1987. In 2014, she left Fox for WBBM.
