Trump and Clinton Deep-Dish Pizzas Offered in Chicago

Giordano's has found a way to combine two of Chicago's pastimes: politics and deep-dish pizza.

CHICAGO, IL - Politics and deep-dish pizza both have deep roots in Chicago, and beginning tomorrow you can combine both of your favorite (or least favorite) city passions.

Giordano’s Pizzeria will offer limited edition “Presidential Candidate Pizzas” on Tuesday, Sept. 27 and the days after the other two planned presidential debates, according to an NBC-Chicago report.

So you can enjoy a pie with your favorite (or least favorite) candidate looking right at you.

The images of Republican nominee Donald Trump and Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton will be made out of parmesan cheese and drawn atop the deep-dish pies with classic red sauce. The parmesan cutouts show both Trump and Clinton smiling.

Because they are both so appealing. The pizzas, of course.

No pies will be created with images of Libertarian Gary Johnson or Green Party candidate Jill Stein, a native of north suburban Highland Park. They must not be qualified in the eyes of Giordano’s, a Chicago staple.

“The upcoming election is on everybody’s minds and we’re excited to give our guests an opportunity to show their support to their chosen candidate in a fun, unique way,” Giordano’s President and CEO Yorgo Koutsogiorgas said.

Giordano’s is only offering the candidate pizzas for dine-in customers at one of their locations, the pizzeria at 323 W. Jackson Blvd. in downtown Chicago. Guests must make the request at the time of their order.

The Trump and Clinton pies will also be available on Election Day, Nov. 8.
