Watch Live Stream: McDonald's Thanksgiving Parade in Chicago

CHICAGO, IL — New York City doesn't have the market cornered when it comes to Thanksgiving Day parades. Chicago knows a thing or two about crowd-pleasing holiday processions.

The annual McDonald's Thanksgiving Parade will march through downtown Chicago on Thursday, Nov. 24, and Matt Walsh, one of the stars of HBO's "Veep," is this year's grand marshal.

Here's what you need to know before the parade steps off:

McDonald's Thanksgiving Parade

  • When: 8 to 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 24
  • Where: State Street, beginning at Congress Parkway and heading north about a mile to Randolph Street.
