Barn Destroyed In Fire Sunday In Crystal Lake

The blaze broke out Sunday afternoon at the barn on Huntley Road in Crystal Lake.

CRYSTAL LAKE, IL — A barn in Crystal Lake was destroyed in a fire Sunday afternoon.

The Crystal Lake Fire Rescue Department was called to the blaze at 8611 Huntley Road at about 12:15 p.m., where fire crews found flames and heat coming from the structure, according to a news release.

The building as not occupied, and no one was injured in the blaze.

It took firefighters two hours to get the blaze under control, and the barn is considered a total loss, according to the news release.

The cause of the fire is being investigated by the Illinois State Fire Marshal’s Office.
