Does Crystal Lake Need a New Library?

The library will host a series of public input sessions in coming months to see what the public thinks.

Crystal Lake library officials will be asking for the public’s input on whether they should look at replacing its current library, which is lacking in space and has aging infrastructure, and, if the building is replaced, what they would like to see in a new library, the Northwest Herald reports. Library officials are currently leaning toward replacing the library with a new $30 million building but will first hold a handful of public input sessions in coming months before making a formal request to the Crystal Lake City Council.

Those public input sessions will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. at Park Place, 406 W. Woodstock St. in Crystal Lake, on March 10, April 21, May 19 and June 9, according to the article.
