Police Aggressively Enforcing Seat Belt Laws in May
Police will patrol to reduce traffic crash deaths and injuries during the Memorial Day holiday.

Hinsdale police will be aggressively enforcing seat belt and child safety seat laws until May 25 as part of the “Click it or Ticket” safety campaign in Illinois.
Hundreds of law enforcement agencies in Illinois, the Illinois Department of Transportation and the Illinois State Police will work to reduce traffic crash deaths and injuries during the Memorial Day holiday, according to a news release.
During the 2014 Memorial Day weekend, there were 12 fatalities on Illinois roads, and three of those fatalities were alcohol-related. Police say wearing a seat belt is the best defense against an impaired driver.

Children in Illinois are requred to be in a car seat or booster seat until age 8, at least. All children younger than 13 should ride in the back seat.
