Chili Lunch for Seniors Set Feb. 9

Deerfield seniors will be served a free chili lunch at noon Feb. 9 by the fire fighters of the at the , according to a news release from the Deerfield Park District.

“The chefs from our own Deerfield Bannockburn Fire Protection District will again provide their scrumptious, rib-sticking, stomach-warming, award-winning chili with all the fixings,” T said. “Guests are invited to stay for the weekly movie.” 

This annual event is free to all people over 50 but advance reservations are required. People can make reservations in person at or online.

In other Park District news, the Turner Center will go from hosting seniors to holding a father-daughter dance for girls from kindergarten through fifth grade at 5:30 p.m. Feb. 26. There will be square dancing and western attire is encouraged, according to a news release. The cost is $48 per couple.

Mothers and sons will get their chance at a sports night for 4 through 10 year olds at 6:30 p.m. March 16 at the Sachs Recreation Center. The charge is $18 per person.
