Deerfield Man Among 14 Arrested in Lake County Prostitution Sting

Lake County Sheriff’s Office detectives arrested 14 last month during an undercover prostitution sting.

On Aug. 6 and 7, undercover detectives with the Lake County Sheriff’s Office Gang Task Force and Criminal Investigations Division used a classified advertising website, which is regularly used as a medium for prostitution, to track down offenders, said Lake County Sheriff’s Office Detective Christopher Covelli.. When the suspects arrived and offered money to the detectives for sexual acts, they were arrested and transported to the sheriff’s office.

The investigation was part of a nationwide operation, which specifically targeted customers of prostitutes known as “Johns.”

Police said the following men were arrested for offering money in exchange for sex in Lake County:

• Juan M. Carrera-Coronel (34) of Gurnee, IL
• Hunter J. Ebdon (19) of Mundelein, IL

• Joseph T. Sapyta (41) of Grayslake, IL
• Hyunsu Kim (43) of Deerfield, IL
• Michael B. Miller (54) of Harvard, IL
• David J. Swan (33) of Round Lake, IL
• Adalad Ponce (32) of Gurnee, IL
• Juan Ocampo-Bautista (32) of Round Lake, IL
• Brandon J. Correa (28) of Waukegan, IL
• Bardo Beltran (32) of Ingleside, IL
• Glenn R. Parduhn (67) of McHenry, IL
