Ex-Briarwood C.C. Employee Broke Into Member Cars: Cops

The Waukegan man is also accused in a home burglary nearby on the day he was fired from the club.

Police have arrested a former employee of the Briarwood Country Club in Deerfield in connection with a series of incidents on July 8 near the club.

Noe Castro Gomez, 20, Waukegan is accused of breaking into a member’s vehicle then burglarizing a home nearby after he was fired that day for another car burglary, according to the Deerfield Review.

Police were first called to a residential burglary that day around 2:20 p.m. in the 800 block of Kipling Place (1/10 of a mile from the club) and found a window smashed with broken glass and bloody footprints inside.

As this call was being handled, police received another one, at the club, about an attempted vehicle break-in.

Gomez had reportedly been fired earlier that day when a female club member confronted him inside her vehicle with some of her possessions.

Gomez was arrested the next day in Waukegan, where items were found linking him to all incidents. He is charged with residential burglary, burglary to motor vehicle, attempted burglary to motor vehicle and criminal damage to property.
