Faulty Headlight Leads to Marijuana Arrest

Cannabis Possession and More 

Edwin Martinez, 25, of Chicago was arrested Jan. 14 for unlawful possession of cannabis, unlawful possession of drug equipment, driving an uninsured motor vehicle and driving with a headlight which was not illuminated, according to Deerfield Police reports

Police observed Martinez driving with a headlight which was not illuminated in the vicinity of Lake Cook Road and Corporate Drive and stopped him near the intersection of Lake Cook and Waukegan Roads, according to the report. After observing a piece of drug equipment, a further search by police turned up cannabis. He was released on bond and is scheduled to appear in Cook County Court at 10:30 a.m. Feb. 19 in Skokie. 

Failure to Appear Warrant 

Eric Hernandez, 18, of Deerfield was arrested Jan. 14 on an outstanding warrant for failing to appear in court for possession of cannabis, according to Deerfield Police reports. Police took Hernandez into custody at his home in the 1100 block of Davis Ave. and turned him over to the Skokie Police. 

Theft 

Two lawn chairs were reported stolen from the front of a home in the 1100 block of Elmwood Avenue, according to Deerfield Police reports. 

Driver’s License Infractions and More 

Sollie Vincent, 37, of Chicago was arrested Jan. 16 for driving with a suspended license, according to Deerfield Police reports. Police observed Vincent in the parking lot of the Red Roof Inn, observed him sitting there for 37 minutes before a woman got into the car and they drove away. While parked, police ran a check and learned his license was suspended. He was stopped after he left. He was released on bond and is scheduled to appear in Lake County Court at 1:30 p.m. Feb. 18 in Park City.
