VIDEO: Warriors Fall to New Trier, Titans Stop Girls

Alfieri led the Warriors with 10 points and 8 rebounds, but it wasn't enough to overcome strong second half from unbeaten New Trier. Kellow and Yucknut pace Deerfield girls' effort against Glenbrook South.

The Final Score:        New Trier 46, 31 

Warriors Star Performers:  led Deerfield with 10 points and eight rebounds.

Other Notable Warrior Performance:        added eight points while contributed seven. 

Who’s Next:   The Warriors entertain Maine West at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. 

The Bottom Line:      The Warriors charged out to a 9-8 lead at the end of the first quarter and trailed 21-17 at halftime before the Trevians went on a 16-7 run in the third period to take control. Deerfield is now 2-3 for the season. 

Girls’ Basketball 

The Final Score:        Glenbrook South 40, Deerfield 31 

Warriors Star Performers:   and paced Deerfield with nine points each.

Other Notable Warrior Performance:        Alexandra Ranallo added four tallies for the Warriors. 

Who’s Next:   The Warriors host Niles North at 7:30 p.m. Friday in a Central Suburban League North contest. 

The Bottom Line:      The Warriors stayed in the game throughout with a lot of hustle and solid defense according to Coach Mike Muldrow. Yucknut closed the gap to six points with just over a minute to play before the Titans put it out of reach. Deerfield is 2-5 for the season.
