Hockey 

Warriors Star Performers:  Michael Wiggemansen scored a goal and an assist while Steve Mages, Johnny Pagano and Spencer Delman chipped in with a goal each. 

Other Notable Warrior Performances:       Henri Beaudoin added an assist and goalie Adam Serck held the Giants to a lone score.

Who’s Next:   The Warriors play the Renegades at 1:55 p.m. today and then meet New Trier White at 8:35 p.m. Both games are in Buffalo Grove. 

The Bottom Line:      Highland Park scored first in the opening period before Wiggemansen stole the puck behind the Giant goal, skated in front and tied the game. After a scoreless second period, Deerfield took the lead in the third on Mages’ goal. Pagano made it 3-1 later in the last period before Delman’s tally made the final count, 4-1. “It was a full team effort tonight,” Coach Chris Waters said. “These guys should be proud of how they played, how they handled themselves and their sportsmanship.” The Warriors are 9-1-2 for the season. 

Wrestling 

The Final Score:        Deerfield 76, Palatine 0; Deerfield 53, Fenton 12 

Warriors Star Performers:  Andrew Mehrholz (106), Joey Bloom (120), Ari Sapinley (152), Patrick Johnson (220) and J.J. Nawrot (Heavyweight) all pinned both of their opponents. Tom Bonadies pinned one opponent and gained another victory with a 5-4 decision. 

Other Notable Warrior Performances:       Brian Spinello (126), Jeff Spinello (132), Brady Glantz (138), Brian McCann (145), Chase Hanusa (182) and Jim Kirby (195) all earned a victory.

Who’s Next:   The Warriors compete today and Saturday at the Antioch Invitational.
