Khan Visits Maine South, Endorsed By Illinois Federation of Teachers

Khan Visits Maine South, Endorsed By Illinois Federation of Teachers

State Rep candidate Mo Khan (Illinois’ 20th House District) has been endorsed by the Illinois Federation of Teachers (IFT), which represents over 100,000 education professionals, public employees and retirees throughout Illinois.

“The IFT represents the men and women in Illinois that work hard to ensure that our students are prepared for tomorrow,” Khan says. “I am absolutely honored to be endorsed by such a great organization.  I have no doubt that, together, we can shape a bright future for the students of our state.”

Khan also concluded visits to the Maine Township High Schools for Democracy Week by speaking at his alma mater, Maine South. Discussion focused on the importance of participating in the political process and civic engagement.

“Complaining won’t change anything – you’ve got to get involved, become informed, become accountable,” Khan explains. “I wanted to share that advice with the younger generation.”

With a campaign focused on the success of the state’s education system, Khan has met with students and teachers from the area to share his vision. A vision, he says, that ensures that Illinois students will be ready for the ever-changing global economy.

“We have so many talented students in this district that amaze me and dedicated teachers that inspire me,” Khan states. “We must make sure we are putting them in the best position to succeed.”

Mo Khan is a 2003 graduate of Maine South High School, received an Accounting degree from the University of Iowa in 2007 and is in the process of earning a Law degree from the Loyola University Chicago School of Law. He has previously served as a Traveling Aide to Hillary Clinton during the 2008 Presidential Campaign and as Special Assistant to Alexi Giannoulias during the 2010 U.S. Senate Campaign.
