Home Explosion Hospitalizes Man In Downers Grove
The homeowners won't be able to access the residence due to its "unstable condition."

DOWNERS GROVE, IL --- A man was injured Friday afternoon after an explosion went off inside a home in Downers Grove. The incident took place around 11:40 a.m. in the 7300 block of Hartford, according to fire department spokesperson Marsha Giesler.
Giesler said a neighbor called to report a noise complaint, but when police arrived at the scene, they saw no smoke or fire. They did find "significant exterior structural damage" to the home.
The man was rushed to a local hospital, but his condition is not currently known.

Giesler said the homeowners will not be able to get into the residence due to the "unstable condition" of the property, which was determined to be "structurally unsound."
The explosion is currently under investigation.
