Abumere Eromon, 34. had been missing since Oct. 20.

DOWNERS GROVE, IL --- Police in Downers Grove are investigating the circumstances surrounding the body of a missing man that was found inside a car submerged in a retention pond Wednesday afternoon. Downers Grove Police were following leads on an ongoing missing persons report filed for Abumere Eromon when they searched in a pond near the intersection of Ogden Ave. and I-355 and found the 34-year-old's vehicle and body.
Eromon's girlfriend had filed a missing person's report on Oct. 20 after he did not return home from his job in Aurora. According to police, Eromon was last seen just after 10 p.m. on Oct. 20 leaving his work in a black 2009 Toyota Camry.
Police say they found Eromon's Toyota Camry submerged in a retention pond Wednesday and later identified the body in the car as Eromon. Eromon's death is currently under investigation.
