More than 40 nurses attended the event “Nurses Leading the Way” at Oak Trace, with special guest Lee Easterly, BSN, on Thursday, May 8. Easterly is a former clinical consultant and presented on how nurses can change the future.
Nurses who work at Oak Trace, a senior living community in Downers Grove, and retired nurses who are currently residents of the community, celebrated National Nurses Week with a day of stories, memories and history. Oak Trace united both the current and retired nurses as a way of connecting the past and present of nursing.
A reception followed the presentation, where retired nurses shared photos and stories from their past careers. National Nurses Week was May 6-12, 2014.
