New FroYo Shop Offers Sweet Ride in Downers Park Plaza

Menchie's Frozen Yogurt kicks off weeklong grand opening with free giveaways and servings of hormone-free, frozen yogurt form May 3-9.

New FroYo Shop Offers Sweet Ride in Downers Park Plaza

Just in time for summer, Menchie’s has opened its newest store in Downers Park Plaza. Offering high quality, delicious frozen yogurt, the shop is sure to have everyone in Downers Grove soon screaming for Menchie’s.

Menchie’s is the fastest-growing, fast casual food franchise in the nation, with more than 400 locations. The self-serve, froyo shop strives to create a happy environment that is interactive and fun for families, with arts and crafts for children, enjoyable music and plenty of indoor and outdoor seating where friends and families can gather.

To celebrate its opening, Menchie’s will spread smiles across a weeklong grand opening from May 3 to May 9. The week will be jam-packed with free giveaways including t-shirts, Menchie’s merchandise, family-friendly activities, and best of all, free servings of frozen yogurt.

The new franchise is owned by siblings Mike and Soheela Malik.

“We felt the Menchie’s brand really matched our own personal values of focusing on the community and family,” franchisee Mike Malik said in a news release. “The company is very active in giving back by forging partnerships with local schools and charities and we look forward to sharing the Menchie’s experience with the residents of Downers Grove.”

Customers can choose from a variety of rotating yogurt flavors and delicious toppings for unlimited combinations (can you say "Girl Scout cookies").

Menchie’s offers a proprietary collection of products made from the milk of “smiley” California cows, which have not been treated with artificial growth hormones (rBST), the company said.

The company’s frozen yogurt contains live and active cultures and has received the Live and Active Culture (LAC) seal indicating its endorsement by the National Yogurt Association.

Menchie’s Downers Park Plaza is located at 7339 Lemont Rd. Downers Grove, and is open Sunday through Thursday 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Friday and Saturday 11 a.m. to 12 a.m. For more information, please visit www.menchies.com
