Pothole Patrol: Village Works to Repair Blemished Roadways

Crews are patching up roads left in poor shape after rough bouts with winter weather.

Pothole Patrol: Village Works to Repair Blemished Roadways
Pothole repairs are in progress in Downers Grove, following a week of fluctuating temperatures and varying precipitation.

Crews are currently inspecting roads and filling potholes using a hot asphalt mix. The work will be divvied up and prioritized based on the Village's snow route map, which accompanies this article.

Work began Monday and was expected to take the entire week as crews work to inspect and make repairs along all routes.

"Many of the calls received so far have been for potholes along roads that the Village does not maintain like Ogden Avenue or Butterfield Road," according to a notice on the Village's website. "The Village has notified the appropriate agencies about these reports."

To report potential roadway problems such as potholes, or identify sidewalk defects, please contact the Community Response Center, by email at crc@downers.us, or by phone at 630-434-2255.
