Two Nabbed in Prostitution Sting After 'John' Offers Woman $60 To Perform Sex Act: POLICE
Tryst was to have lasted ten minutes, Downers Grove cops say.

Police arrested two people at a Downers Grove hotel after learning of an arrangement in which a Westmont man offered to pay a Rockford woman $60 for ten minutes of her time to perform a sexual act, reports said.
Hailey M. Hertenstein, 21, of Rockford, was charged with one count of prostitution. Antoine G. Edwards, 31, of Westmont, was charged with soliciting a prostitute. Both came under the scrutiny of Downers Grove police during an online prostitution investigation, police said.
Detectives started staking out the Extended Stay Hotel at 3150 Finley Road around 6:25 p.m. Oct. 31.

When Hertenstein left her room, detectives asked if they could go back inside to talk. Hertenstein said they could talk in the hallway. Police said she eventually relented and let detectives into her room after they asked if she wanted other guests to hear what they were saying.
At first, Hertenstein was very upset, but eventually she began to relax and spoke openly with detectives, according to the heavily redacted police report.

The detective then used Hertenstein’s phone to text her alleged customer to come to her room. Detectives said they observed a man later identified as Edwards walking down the hallway.
According to the report, Edwards stood outside the Rockford woman’s room listening, before walking away. He returned moments later and stood outside the door again and then left.
Detectives caught up to Edwards walking down the stairs. They told Edwards they were conducting a prostitution investigation and asked if he had allegedly tried to contact Hertenstein.
Edwards said he was visiting a friend staying at the hotel. The detective said he would call the number on Hersteinstein’s phone to see if Edwards’ phone rang.
After allegedly telling police that his phone was off, they offered to charge his phone for him, after which, police said, they would again attempt to call the number from Hertenstein’s phone.
Police said Edwards asked the detectives what they wanted to know. After asking Edwards if he was paying $60 for ten minutes of Hertenstein’s time to perform a sexual act, he was taken into custody, police said.
Hertenstein and Edwards were brought to the Downers Grove police station where they processed and given citations. Both were released.
The two are due in court on Dec. 3 at the Wheaton Courthouse.
