Cop Giving Driver A Hand Gets Car Door Shut On It: Cops
An Elmhurst cop lending a woman a hand got it shut in a car door when "she became upset and uncooperative," police said.

The allegedly upset and uncooperative woman, 36-year-old Nancy Petersen of Woodridge, was charged with battery, possession of drug paraphernalia, improper parking on a roadway and operating an uninsured motor vehicle in connection with the 4 a.m. Sunday incident.

Petersen's run-in with the law started when an officer was sent to Lake Street and Route 83 to assist a motorist, police said.

While the officer was speaking with Petersen, "she became upset and uncooperative," police said. "The driver pushed her driver side door open into (the officer) and then shut the door on (his) hand."

The officer tried to subject Peterson to field sobriety tests but she attempted to take off in her car, police said.

Police allegedly found three pot pipes when they searched Petersen's car. She was released on bond.
