Caption: Every middle school student’s dream: dump ice water on their assistant principal and teacher from a first floor window. Students at Sandburg Middle School raised money for ALS research and got to douse their teachers.
Sandburg Middle School students raised $462.12 for ALS and got to watch their assistant principal, Jeff Gail, get a cold bucket of ice poured on him from the first floor of their school.
Gail was challenged by Sandburg physical education teacher Mike Murphy to take the ALS ice bucket challenge. Sandburg students had a goal to raise money for ALS research. The more money raised, the higher the drop.
A jar was placed in the school office where students could donate money through last Thursday. That afternoon was the appointed dunking.
Physical education teacher Bradley Sutter also took the challenge. The Sandburg staffers in turn challenged staff at their sister middle schools, Bryan and Churchville, as well as Jackson Elementary School.
Sandburg captured the historic moment on video.
