Man Found 'Resting' in the Middle of the Road

He was taken to the hospital due to intoxication.

Man Found 'Resting' in the Middle of the Road

Police got a call at 11:44 p.m. Aug. 18, 2011, from a person driving eastbound on North Avenue who reported they saw a man laying in the middle of the road on Clinton Street. The caller said a bicycle was near the man.

When police arrived, they found Timothy A. Tinnes, 53, of 444 Fay St., Elmhurst, who told police he just stopped for a rest and had not been hit by a car.

Police said Tinnes had slurred speech, glassy eyes and a "strong odor" of alcohol emanating from him. He was taken to Elmhurst Memorial Hospital by medics due to his high level of intoxication, reports said. He was issued a citation for disorderly conduct, public intoxication, at the hospital.
