Saturday Night's All Right for Fighting: Cops Charge Man for Firing Blank Gun

A Berkley man is being held on $300,000 bail after he allegedly shot a blank gun in front of an Elmhurst bar on Saturday night, Suburban Life reported.

Michael Carr, 24, was charged with one count of aggravated battery in a public place, one count of aggravated battery-great bodily harm, and armed violence, all felonies.

Police responded to a fight outside of Fitz’s Spare Keys at 119 N. York St. around 10:43 p.m. March 29, when Carr fired the blank gun, reports said.

“There was a fight and somebody fired a blank gun on the street,” Elmhurst Police Chief Michael Ruth told Suburban Life.

The DuPage County Sheriff also noted that Carr has an active warrant out of DeKalb County. Carr will be transferred to that agency after he posts 10 percent of the set bail, or $30,000.
