Crossing Guard Hit By Car Near ETHS

The 25-year-old woman suffered cuts to her forehead, knee and elbow while directing traffic near the high school Wednesday morning.

EVANSTON, IL - A crossing guard was hit by a car Wednesday morning while directing traffic near Evanston Township High School.

The victim, a 25-year-old woman from Chicago, was hit in the 2100 block of Church Street near Grey avenue at 8:12 a.m., according to an Evanston Police Department report. She was struck by a vehicle making a left turn out of an ETHS parking lot to go west on Church.

The victim was cut on her forehead, knee and elbow and taken to Evanston Hospital for treatment.

The driver - a 60-year-old woman from Skokie - was cited for disregarding a crossing guard.
