One man turned himself in after police released surveillance footage of two suspects at a 7-Eleven in Skokie, using a credit card that was reported stolen in the armed robbery.

A 23-year-old man from Evanston turned himself in to police and was charged Thursday in connection with .

Timothy Blue, of the 1800 block of Hartrey Avenue in Evanston, came to police on Wednesday, Aug. 22, after they released surveillance video showing him and another suspect using a credit card stolen in the robbery.

Blue and another man allegedly approached three female Northwestern University students at the intersection of Foster Street and Pratt Court at 1:10 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 19, according to police. One of the men pulled out a silver handgun and demanded that they hand over their valuables, police said.

The man with the gun stole one woman's purse and her cell phone, then took the purses of her two companions. He and the other man ran away on foot, heading west on Foster Street, according to police. 

Blue and another man were  just 25 minutes later, using one of the women's credit cards at a 7-Eleven at 3441 Church Street in Skokie, police reported.

Police released an image from the surveillance video to the press on Monday. Blue turned himself in two days later, according to police, and a witness identified him as one of the men who approached her in a lineup.

Evanston police are still searching for the second suspect.
