Foundation 65 Receives Matching Gift Challenge from Tawani Foundation

March 5,  2014 – Foundation 65 announced the receipt of a $300,000 grant and matching gift challenge from Colonel (IL) Jennifer N. Pritzker, IL ARNG (Retired) and the Tawani Foundation.   The pledged support will fund infrastructure growth as well as the expansion of current and newly funded programming. 

“I am a parent, grandparent, and resident of Evanston.  It is my pleasure to join with other parents and residents to help provide strong schools and teachers. Together we transform the lives of children to make a thriving and successful community“ said Colonel Pritzker, Founder of Tawani Foundation , Pritzker Military Museum and Library and President & CEO of Tawani Enterprises.

Tawani Foundation works to affect significant transformation of organizations and educational programs that enrich knowledge, preserve military heritage, improve health and wellness and conserve unique sites for enduring positive impact on individuals, communities and societies.

Foundation 65 is the educational foundation dedicated to partnering with District 65 by providing grants and developing community/district partnerships in support of educational excellence. 

The pledged support and challenge gives Foundation 65 the opportunity to make an even greater impact on education in Evanston.  Through focused arts and literacy grants, Foundation 65 works to support students directly, helping to decrease the achievement gap, improve instructional practice through professional development for teachers and provide enrichment for all students.
