Harmonizers sing for seniors

Harmonizers sing for seniors

The North Shore Harmonizers, an independent women's a cappella chorus in the barbershop tradition, will perform a Valentine’s concert at two local senior citizen retirement homes in February—on Sunday, February 9, at 3pm at Three Crowns Park in Evanston (2323 McDaniel Ave.) and on Friday, February 14, at 2pm at Sunrise Senior Living Retirement Home in Highland Park (1601 Green Bay Rd.).

This lively concert with a love-related theme will feature such favorites as the Beatles’ “All my Lovin’,” “You are my Sunshine,” and many Broadway classics.

Also in February, the Harmonizers will sing on Sunday, February 16, for Chicago Alderman Patrick J. O’Connor’s Annual Luncheon and Fashion Show at the Crystal Palace, 1070 S. Elmhurst Rd., in Mt. Prospect.

The Harmonizers, which celebrated its 60th year in 2013, perform at their own public concerts, at special and holiday programs for senior citizens and other Chicago-area community groups throughout the year, and at farmers' markets during the summer. Their next public concert is Sunday, May 4, so save the date! For more information, go the their web site ( www.northshoreharmonizers.com) or call 847-454-7535.
