Missing Man Found Dead Along Lake Michigan In Evanston

Andrew Pappas hadn't been seen by family since Saturday. His body was found along the rocks Wednesday afternoon in Evanston.

EVANSTON, IL — Police in Evanston found a dead body against the rocks in Lake Michigan near Garden Park Wednesday afternoon and positively identified the victim as Andrew Pappas, a 45-year-old man reported missing by his family Tuesday night.

The body was found near Garden Park at 626 Sheridan Square, police said in a news release Wednesday night. There's no indication of foul play, but police are in the midst of a death investigation.

Pappas was last seen at his home in the 1400 block of Hinman Avenue on Saturday and was said to be "endangered" and one who suffers from a psychiatric disorder.

Pappas' body has been transported to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office, where his official cause of death has yet to have been announced as of Wednesday night.
