Resident Athletes Compete in 2nd Annual Triathlon at The Mather

The Olympics may be over but friendly competition continued on Friday, September 2nd when The Mather, a Life Plan Community in Evanston, hosted 26 athletes in its 2nd Annual Triathlon.

Resident athletes, including Herbert Bronstein, pictured above, competed in their choice of three events: an outdoor walk or indoor walk on a treadmill; a cycling event on an indoor exercise bike or NuStep, and a pool event which included walking or swimming for 15 minute intervals in each category.

Life Enrichment Manager Anita Tomasevic was excited about this year's involvement, with athlete numbers rising over last year's inaugural event.

"Residents were so excited to have the opportunity to participate in the triathlon again. It's really about getting out, getting involved in the community, and pushing yourself to accomplish a little more. Our community is so encouraging of one another -- it was inspiring to watch them cheer each other on!"
