Textile Exhibit to Debut at Winnetka Summer Antiques Show

Experience textiles as you’ve never seen them before at the Winnetka Summer Antiques Show, taking place June 6-8 at the Winnetka Ice Arena. Throughout the weekend, a unique display will be open to show attendees showcasing a wide range of beautiful textiles from the exhibiting dealers. Featured pieces will include those served for functional, ceremonial and purely esthetic purposes.

On Saturday at 2pm, Christine Garrett Paschen of Garrett Paschen Ltd. of Evanston will educate show-goers about the history of textiles and their function in today’s world. With over 30 years of experience in the interior design industry, Christine will speak on the use of these intricate pieces of work as decorative art and assist attendees in envisioning textiles in residential spaces.

“We are thrilled to introduce a featured exhibit to the Winnetka Summer Antiques Show,” said Michael Corbett, a committee member for the North Shore Antiques Dealers Association. “Textiles have been created worldwide throughout history and we are proud to provide attendees with a selection of the some of the best textiles available from dealers hailing from across the country.”

Nearly 50 knowledgeable antiques dealers from around the globe will be showcasing their unique collection of textiles, ceramics, folk and fine art, furniture, jewelry, oriental rugs and more at the Winnetka Summer Antiques Show. With a wide variety of pieces from the 17th to 20th centuries, the Show will offer design options for a wide range of interests, tastes, and budgets.

The Winnetka Summer Antiques Show takes place Friday, June 6, from 5:00 to 9:00 pm, Saturday, June 7, from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm and Sunday, June 8, from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm. Admission is $12 for adults and free for children under 12.

Funds raised at the 2014 North Shore Antiques Dealers Association Winnetka Summer Antiques Show will benefit Lambs Farm, a premier nonprofit organization whose mission is to help people with developmental disabilities lead productive and happy lives.
