Former Chicago Bear Busted on Drug Charges

Former Chicago Bear Busted on Drug Charges

Former Chicago Bears top-pick player David Terrell faces drug and battery charges following a Friday arrest in Chicago's south side, the Chicago Tribune reports.

Police reportedly found the 35-year-old former Bear around 1:30 p.m. Friday in a Bronzeville apartment, where he was sitting amidst marijuana and marijuana packaging devices. Terrell was arrested and managed to accumulate two misdemeanor battery of a police officer charges in the proceedings: once for striking an officer's hand during an interview and again while attempting to "defeat" arrest as officers attempted to place him into custody.

Terrell's record is already marred by a domestic battery charge from April of 2012. Eleven years prior, the 6-foot-3-inch, 220 pounder was the Chicago Bears' first-round pick in the 2001 NFL Draft.

Terrell's bail was set Saturday at $20,000.
