Welcome to Evergreen Park Patch

Meet Evergreen Park Editor Renita Young and hear more about the town's newest source for news and information.

In a small town like Evergreen Park, just about everybody knows everybody. The next-door neighbor is a teacher at the school down the street. Children grow up and raise their own families in the village.

While building the Evergreen Park Patch, I found Evergreen Park to be a tight-knit, family community with big-city influence.

Known as a "Village of Churches," Evergreen Park has more than 10 churches of different denominations. It's home to a Walmart, Sam's Club and Evergreen Plaza. The residents have a strong commitment to the community and actively participate in making the village a better place.

Like the dedicated residents, I want to take ownership of Evergreen Park and be a true resource, providing daily news that matters to you. Simply put, the Evergreen Park Patch is everything you want to know about your village. My team of reporters and I will be your feet on the street, chronicling the day's events through articles, photos and videos. We will use our multimedia skills to produce unique news stories about Evergreen Park.

But it's not about us; it's about you. This is your Patch, so make it your own. Join the conversation by liking us on Facebook and following us on Twitter. Register on our website to comment on stories, or add announcements to the site and events to our calendar. Check out our comprehensive directory of local businesses and public agencies.

As someone who grew up close to Evergreen Park, I'm excited to learn more about the village next door. If you have any ideas or just want to say "hi," feel free to drop me a line at renita.young@patch.com or 708-321-0986. See you around town!
