A 35-year-old man in unincorporated Worth was charged with two counts of aggravated domestic battery and one count of aggravated animal cruelty after a domestic attack on Sunday.
The attack began around 8 p.m. Saturday, when Christopher Krentkowski dragged his mother’s 15-year-old dog out of her bedroom in the 11700 block of South Ridgeland in unincorporated Worth, Cook County Sheriff’s Police said in a news advisory.
Sheriff’s Police said Krentkowski began kicking the dog. When his 53-year-old mother told him to stop, he tried to strangle her and struck his mother’s head against a bookcase, according to the police investigation.
Krentkowski allegedly continued assaulting the dog, until the dog died.
The 35-year-old man was arrested Sunday.
Bail was set at $125,000 during a court appearance Monday in Bridgeview. He is currently being held in Cook County Jail.
Krentkowski’s is due back in court on June 26.
