$8K in Batteries Missing from Batavia Township Cell Tower: Police
The batteries were reportedly removed from the cell tower.
Sixteen backup batteries valued at $8,000 have been reported missing from a cell tower in Batavia Township, according to the Kane County Chronicle.
A service technician reported the missing batteries after responding to the service tower 2S171 Hart Road and found the batteries had been removed, according to the article.
Police believe the offender had ”inside technical knowledge” because of how the batteries were removed, the newspaper reports.
